The richest 10% contribute to half of all CO2 emissions
In a pivotal study conducted by Oxfam, researchers found that economic inequality is “inextricably linked” to climate change.
According to Oxfam, the richest 10% of the world’s population are responsible for half the CO2 emissions, producing 175 times more than the poorest 10%. Despite this, Oxfam argue that it is the poor who will be most likely to suffer the consequences of climate change.
