Consider for a moment that this project began as a high school assignment. Then, consider further that industry wouldn't contribute a dime; the kid crowdfunded the thing himself. Lastly, he built the proof-of-concept prototype and deployed it in the deep seas. I think this story serves as a shining example of the difference between empty rhetoric and decisive action in the battle against global pollution.
