In this video, Professor Elfatih Eltahir explains the regional focus on his climate research at MIT. He explores the challenges that developing countries in Africa and Asia face in adapting to localized climate change. He highlights the importance of climate education and research in helping regions find viable solutions to climate change problems.

Congratulations to the

Congratulations to the Professor Eltahir and colleagues for this research.

I am from West Africa and such a research can help doing advocacy toward governments and leaders to better take action against climate change. May i have the situation of heatwaves in my country, Burkina Faso?.

New modelling research

New modelling research published this week by Professor Eltahir and colleagues highlights the deadly heat-wave risks of unmitigated climate change for vast regions of South Asia.

By the end of the century, one fifth of earth's human population could face bouts of catastrophic heat and humidity.

"This is something that is going to impact your most vulnerable population in ways that are potentially pretty lethal,” explains Professor Eltahir. “But it is avoidable, it is preventable."
